Since 2022, the Annual Charity Hockey Game hosted by Biigtigong Dbenjgan has become more than just a community event — it has become a meaningful tradition rooted in connection, generosity, and giving back.
What started as a local fundraising initiative has continued to grow each year thanks to the incredible support of our community members, sponsors, volunteers, players, and neighboring organizations. The event brings people together through sport while raising funds to support important local causes within our region.
Funds raised through the Charity Hockey Game are donated directly to the local food banks serving both Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and the Town of Marathon, helping support individuals and families in need throughout the year.
This year’s Charity Hockey Game raised an incredible $27,000.00, bringing the overall fundraising total to $101,544.00 raised since the event began in 2022.
The continued success of this event reflects the strength of community spirit within Biigtigong and surrounding areas. Every sponsorship, donation, volunteer hour, and attendee contributes to making a real and lasting impact.
